Gazing outside the bay windows in the den, the wind gently swirls through the trees, in reminder that seasonal change is on its way. Already, the tropical storm patterns have delivered cooling patterns and chill is in the air.
Inside, the house is decorated for Thanksgiving, the curio cabinet complete with pumpkins, turkeys, and tiny replicated Pilgrims – collected over the decades and lovingly displayed for all to see. The garden in back has been winterized, and the metal sculptures of corn and pumpkins reflect the “northern feel” of a countryside readied for harvest. It is fall here and my thoughts are turned to the ending of another year. A harvest of blessings fills my head and I am thankful.
